6 is not a very big number especially when it's followed by the word 'degrees'...but out we went anyway, not exactly sure the distance but we did an hour 1:19...we went up to Amherst on some dirt roads which was 1. so beautiful 2. a huge relief to my aching shins. We were hoping to do about 2 hours but between the crazy low temps and sickness we decided to head back. Everything felt good, the left shin was a bit more sore than the right one but not until we came down from the climb. I felt good, spirits were high. Conversing about the Olympic trials and future personal goals and the crazy things in life helps too. I am thankful for my running buddies, we pound out the craziness of life one mile at a time!
I went to see one of our friends today who is a sports therapist and his diagnosis: overuse. BIG sigh of relief but still have to figure out how to make the pain go away. I'd like to be able to just run. Maybe some different type of shoe and for sure getting off the asphalt as much as possible. I am incredible thankful for all my friends. I am so blessed and very thankful. Thank you Lund family for taking time out of your day to check out my aches and pains!
So, as I'm looking down the calendar of 2012, I am seriously considering NYC this is the last year that my current marathon time (3:12) qualifies for me the marathon! Next year it'll be 3:00 flat, wow! I don't know, it makes me a bit nervous but I also think it could be a great experience. It would be 2 majors down 3 more to go! That would be very cool.So we'll see!
Tomorrow to the pool to run in a square for an hour or so...blah. But whatever it takes, Boston Bound!!!!!!
