Run right through the Wall just like the cartoon characters only leaving your outline!

It was cold and it was windy. That's it though. There was snow or rain or hail or freezing rain so there really isn't too much to complain about. I can handle cold and usually I can handle windy. Thankfully today it was head wind and tail wind depending on which we way were running. We did one loop of 12.25 miles and then another 10 and change. So a little over 22 miles. The first 12 were awesome, challenging but fun. Miles 12-14 we're fine but then I saw the Wall. For some reason I felt a bit weak and tired and that little nagging voice of doubt was threatening to come in. I took out my gel a bit early and started ingesting that slowly and a friend's encouraging words of basically we had 6 miles left lifted my spirits. I thought to myself, there are people who hit the Wall and there are people who recognize the Wall but run right through it. I promised myself to be the 2nd type of person. So there I went. My quads at times felt like frozen cinder blocks almost refusing to move but I convinced them to take one step at a time. Once we got to about 3 miles left, I was psyched, there wasn't much chatting just breathing and foot steps. Two more small inclines and we were almost there. That last half mile felt like eternity but I just focused my gaze forward and remembered as much as I could of the last half mile at Boston. Moving my arms, propelling myself forward. Just like that, it was over. 22+ miles. It's no joke. It's a lot of running, a lot of miles.
Highlights for me today:
Seeing 2 Lincoln Log houses--they even had green roofs!
Hearing a friend say "snack time" as we busted out our goos and shots
Peeing on the side of the road in broad day light.
Inhaling wonderful but incredibly unhealthy food post run (love you summer house!)

Tomorrow to the pool!
