So by this time everyone in the country, (a bit of an exaggeration) has heard that the high for Marathon Monday is going t be 88F. The B.A.A. has committed to allow runners to deffer to next year because of the extreme heat. It's scary, it's daunting, honestly it pisses us off a bit but we've been through a lot to get to the start line and I am sure we have the strength to endure a bit more. I have no idea how this marathon will go while running in close to 90 degree temperatures after running in the dark and chilly temperatures for the last 4 months. I think or I hope, if I am smart, stay hydrated find a way to literally keep my head cool then hopefully it'll go well. I'll be honest, I'm nervous about not running a time that will qualify for me next year but again, I guess we'll just have to see how things shake out. Bottom line, there is no race that is more important than my life. I will do everything I can to run a good solid race but I will not put my life in danger, I have a family to think about and I would never want to do something that could take me away from them.
So, we will see my friends. I am hopeful. I am excited. I am nervous. I am ready to rock. My next and last entry will be post race.
BOSTON BOUND BABY!!! 2 MORE DAYS TO GO!
Good luck ans stay safe! We'll be cheering for you. Awesome blog(s) by the way- just getting a chance to read some.
