So, since I've committed to pool running at least twice a week, I guess you could call me "one of the regulars." There is another guy who I consider to be a "regular" in the pee pool There are other regulars in the big pool too, how they can get into that cold pool at 5:30 amazes me! Anyway, so there are a few regulars in the "pee pool" and they are all men that come to do some type of lap. This one man in particular the last few days has told me to continue to do my square and he will go around me. It's a little odd to see someone doing laps on a diagonal and then swerving. I mean really it's not that hard for me to stop so that he can go back and forth in his lane but he insists that I just do my thing and he will avoid me. Odd but very kind. So yesterday I had 50 minutes, I took advantage and did 1 minute x 10 repeats, with warm up, cool down and recovery it was a good work out, of course I would like to do closer to an hour but it's ok, I got in the repeats which was great! Another aqua run logged. At least we must entertain the lifeguards!
Today we had an awesome run. I headed out with some lady friends at 5:15am to do a 7 mile run. It does sound early but for some reason it doesn't really bother me any more. You just get up, get dressed and go. You can't think too much about the fact that by 5:00 am your car has already been warming up for 15 minutes. We had a great run, chatting the entire time. The pace felt comfortable and I love the climbs around my friends house, keeps things interesting. I love running for a lot of reasons but at this point, my number one reason is the community it has given us, not only to me but to my family too. A healthy caring community, what more could I ask for really?
This morning as we dragging our butts up the last climb, I could feel butterflies in my stomach thinking, heart break hill is only a few months away! Bring it on Heart Break!
