40 degrees at 5:10am in January, AWESOME! There were even patches of really warm air, which is always cool to run through. Today we did a 10 mile route that consists of some flat, 4 significant climbs and some nice down hills. It's not a super easy route but it's beautiful...well that is when you can see it. Today it was crazy out there. First of all the roads were sheer ice. I looked at my friend Amy and said "are you struggling this morning when the roads?" and she said "yup!" I felt like a cartoon character with my legs going a million miles an hour but in 2 different directions. I literally slid into a snow bank. That was on the lower roads, the higher roads were a bit better with footing but the fog was so dense I ran in the middle of the street so I could use the yellow lines as a guide and not run off the road. I am certain people thought we were nuts, which maybe we are, a little bit.
Everything feels good. I am going to roll out the right leg a bit, after I actually get some house chores done.
10 done, tomorrow, to the pool.
