Permission.

After tweeking my ankle on yesterday's 12 miler and my quad feeling a bit strained the last few days...I gave myself permission to take a midweek day off. I woke up and was ready to go, lunch made, bags packed but as I was getting ready and hobbling around, I thought, "is this one work out on an injured body going to help me?" the obvious answer was no, so I crawled back into bed and slept another an hour and a half. We'll see how tomorrow goes...I was thinking of maybe trying to do another 10 this week but we'll see. I am very much looking forward to trying to hit 20 on Sunday with a bunch of women.
Ryan Hall said once in an interview we have to trust in our training and let ourselves rest when we need to. I am glad I rested today. It's hard to not feel guilty and knowing that all the other 25,000 people who will be running Boston were probably out there pounding the pavement is hard but I am trying to be smarter and listen to my body.
Enough injuries already, seriously. I just want to rock out and have fun! I am so excited for April 16th, it's such a party, start line to finish line!

75 DAYS!!!
